My First Blog Post Experience
Actually, when I was in a situation to write my first blog post, I was speechless, and my hands were struggling to press the keys. I didn’t even know what to write or how to write. On the other side, there are a lot of questions roaming around my mind and distracting me from writing my first word.
Mainly below are the things that struck my mind while writing my first blog post:
- How to present content to my audience?
- How will they react to my content?
- Will they find my content useful?
- How to share my feelings through words?
Trust me, for the first few minutes, I was not able to type a word! But thinking about my journey, from where I couldn’t even write a single paragraph to now being able to write more than 3000 words in a day, amazing, isn’t it?
In fact, I created my first blog because I am interested in writing and I really wanted to be a popular blogger. However, there is something that I experienced, like writer’s block, when I was writing my first blog post.
Our first blog post is really special and always memorable, right? If you have your own blog or are on the way to writing your first blog post, you can sense what I am talking about for sure.
Right, if you are reading this post and you have no idea how to come up with your first blog post, then don’t worry; I will help you tackle the situation.
What Should You Write in Your First Blog Post?
As said earlier, if you are just starting your first blog, here is a list that you can include in your first post.
About Yourself
You can share who you are and what you are doing, whether you are a professional writer or an ordinary person who is just starting his blogging career out of personal interest. And the most important thing about blogging is that you have to share real things with your audience and be honest in your writing.
Always keep in mind that the more you share about yourself, the more trust your audience will have in you. As a result, they will keep following your blog regularly.
About Your Blog
Coming to the most important point, there are certain things that you have to share with your audience, and those might be the connecting factors between your audience and the blog.
For example,
- Why have you started a blog?
- What is your blog about?
- What will you provide for your audience?
- What type of content can they expect?
- How often will you publish content on the blog?
Note that if your audience is not able to address the type of content your blog will cover, they will forget your blog.
About Your Blogging Goals
Honestly, there might be different reasons why a person starts a blog. Some start to share knowledge with others, some start to earn money online, and some start it as a lifestyle blog.
Whatever it may be, you have to convey your blogging goal to your audience in your first blog post. You can share with them how your blog will be after a few months and what you are trying to achieve through the blog. By doing so, your audience will understand that you are transparent and a trustworthy person online.
About Your Target Audience
In your first blog post, you must mention for whom you are writing and who your target audience may be.
Consider the following table, if you say that you are targeting people who are looking for solutions online. Then your audience can understand that they can follow your blog and you are there to help them solve an issue.
Types of Content | Target Audience |
How To’s | People who are looking for solutions for their issues |
Product reviews | People who are searching for a product review before their purchase |
As you have seen in the table, deciding your target audience will help you decide the type of content you are going to publish on your blog, and vice versa.
About the Interaction Method
Right from the beginning, you have to make it clear to your audience about how often and how you will engage with them. Also, you can clearly state that
- How will you respond to comments?
- Will you encourage comments?
- Will you accept guest posts?
- Are you ready to communicate throughout the day, or will you only be available at a particular time or day in the week?
- How can your audience communicate with you if they really need to?
That’s all. These are the points you need to cover in your first blog post.

Wrapping up
It does not matter how your first blog post comes out. True, it does not have to be perfect or attract more readers. But practically, we could say that starting a blog matters more than writing your first blog post. More than that, writing and publishing blog posts regularly matters!
We are happy that you have started, but we suggest and encourage you to be consistent in your blogging journey.
Every blog on the internet is not written and published in a single day, as per the saying, “Rome was not built in a single day.”. So be consistent in whatever you do.
If you have written your first blog post, do let me know in the comments section below. I am waiting to hear about your experience. All the best!

Hi there Nirmal,
This post made me sad and in the same time happy.
Sad because how much time has gone to blogging and still didn’t win anything from it.
Happy because how hard I’m trying and everyone is trying to win from it, at the end I think we enjoy blogging, is a future career for us right?
Cheers,
Clay Smith.
